Home Instructions for Your Dentures/Partials

Congratulations on your new smile!! Be prepared for many compliments.

»When teeth are removed and dentures/partials are placed, there is a period of adjustment. Your speech may be affected and you may have increased saliva for several days until your mouth adapts.  If you experience a slight headache, mild pain medication may be used.

»Each day, brush your gums, tongue, roof of mouth and teeth with a soft brush to remove plaque and stimulate circulation.

»Remove your dentures/partials each night and clean them with a denture brush and water. Brush them gently with toothpaste, mouthwash, or a special cleaning solution.

»Keep your dentures/partials  in a container of fresh water when not in use. Do not allow them to dry out because they may change shape.

»Protect your dentures/partials by:

■ Avoiding sticky candies, gum and very hard substances, as peanut brittle, ice, fingernails.

■ Decreasing anything that stains teeth, such as: tea, coffee, red wine, smoking.

»We will call you the next business day to be sure all is well. However, call us immediately if you have questions or concerns.

We put the customer first. Your denture or partials have a one year warranty against defects. Any needed adjustments are covered in full for the first year. Your denture/partials were placed on _________________ (we have recorded this in your patient record). This agreement is only valid if you have regular recommended cleanings and checkups at our office.
