One Visit Porcelain Crown (CEREC)

CEREC is an advanced dental restorative system that allows Dr. Finney to restore decayed teeth, place crowns, or replace defective amalgam fillings in just one appointment. Along with a single appointment, one of the best features of CEREC is that a digital picture of the tooth is used instead of rubbery impression paste. CEREC restorations are made of a high strength ceramic which is shaped to replace the decayed or broken areas of a tooth while maintaining the healthy part of the tooth. CEREC restorations contain no metal, avoiding possible allergic reactions. There are also no dark metallic edges. CEREC is another way we can achieve our goal of helping you keep your teeth healthy and looking great for a lifetime.
The CEREC Procedure

Dr. Finney examines your tooth and determines the appropriate treatment. It could be a small filling, or a full crown, depending on how much healthy tooth structure is present. Dr. Finney administers an anesthetic and prepares your tooth for the restoration, removing decayed and weakened tooth tissue.

Dr. Finney takes a digital picture of the prepared tooth and surrounding areas. This picture is used to design and shape your permanent restoration. The design information is sent through a wireless connection to a computerized milling machine in our office. A ceramic block that matches your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine. - About 40 minutes later, your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready for the final adjustments ensuring proper fit and bite. Dr. Finney then bonds the new restoration to the prepared tooth. Your tooth is restored with no "temporary" or return trip.
